This weekend I went outside my comfort zone and volunteered to help build websites for nonprofits with an organization called 48in48. The group brings together volunteers three times a year to build websites. In the spring the focus is women’s organizations, summer is social justice, and the fall is global. How cool is that!

I had the opportunity to work with a great group of people. Most of us were new to the experience, but we had an experienced project manager that helped guide us through the long list of tasks. It was great that we all tried something new and were there to support each other.
It was my first time using a page builder and even though I love the direction core WordPress is going. It was nice to have some fun design features to play with.
I feel that I have always been questioned by others about doing things that might not be within my wheelhouse. I think that adds to the challenge to prove people and myself wrong. I might not do it great, definitely not, but I will have an internal justification that I tried.
